What You Can Expect

At Cover Tight Roofing we believe in quality workmanship, professionalism, dependability and most importantly affordability. When we give you an estimate, our aim is not just to be the lowest proposal. Price is only one factor in deciding on a roofing and exterior contractor. Remember, you get what you pay for, there is always a trade off between quality and price. We strive to do the best job possible with emphasis on safety and details, not just enough to get the job done.

At Cover Tight Roofing we carry 2 million dollar liability insurance and all of our workers are covered by the workers compensation board. All of our installers are certified with the Master Shingler certification from Certainteed and have all of their safety certifications including whmis, working at heights/fall protection, and first aid & cpr.  We also provide you with a 10 year written workmanship warranty to keep your mind at ease. Which is also transferable in the event that you sell your home.

ROOFING & EXTERIOR EXPECTATIONS: If you are like most of our customers, this is probably your first experience getting the exterior of your home worked on and are wondering what to expect.

DO I NEED TO BE HOME WHILE THE WORK IS IN PROGRESS? No in fact most people prefer not to be home when the hammering begins!

VALUABLE TIPS:

  • Make sure lawns are mowed prior to the start of the project

  • Keep landscaped areas neatly trimmed or otherwise made accessible for the crews

  • Remove vehicles from the driveway to allow for necessary unloading and loading of equipment and materials

  • On hot days allow access to a water hose to “cool” the shingles so they lay better and to prevent damage

  • In the Fall, removing fallen leaves from around the perimeter of the home will improve the finding of nails and debris

  • In the Winter, make sure all walkways are clear of ice and snow

  • Alert your neighbor's of the upcoming work your having done

COMMUNICATION: If you have any questions prior to, during or after the work has been completed please call (204) 290-8540, well be happy to help answer any of your questions or concerns. Or if you prefer email we can be reached at Info@covertightroofing.com.

SCHEDULE: We can usually schedule your job within 7 to 21 days after you have given the okay to proceed with the work. If you have a leak we will put a temporary patch, give the job priority and schedule it before any jobs which are not priority. We can also schedule the job to best suit your needs when you book the job as to the week or days you would prefer to have it done, we will do our best to accommodate you.

MATERIALS: The material will be the first to arrive, and is usually loaded directly onto your roof allowing you unimpeded access to your parking area. If there are reasons your roof cannot be loaded (power lines or tree branches in the way, or if your roof has too steep of a pitch) you will be notified in advance of the situation. We do request that you keep the driveway area clear of vehicles on the day your delivery is scheduled unless someone will be home to move the vehicles when the supplier arrives, and a crew will follow within 1 to 14 business days.

ACCESS: Your contract price also has accessibility to driveways and electricity figured into the price. If exterior plugs are not available just give us a heads up as we will have to use gas compressors.

TEAR OFF: When it is necessary to remove your existing roof/roofs debris can fall through your lath or roof decking into the attic. We suggest covering or removing any items which require protection. Any items close to the building will be either removed or tarped to prevent damage.

WIRING & AIR CONDITIONING LINES: Electrical, Telephone, Security and air conditioning lines should not be installed directly underneath the roof deck. If you are aware of any such lines, we must be notified immediately. We can not assume responsibility for the puncturing of improperly installed lines or lines within three inches of the roof deck.

TREES & SHRUBS: If you have low hanging branches over your roof, some trimming may be necessary. Our employees will only cut limbs which limit our ability to do an efficient job and excellent workmanship.

ANTENNAS, SATELLITE DISHES AND SOLAR PANELS: With antennas, we will ask prior to or during the installation if you would like the antenna reinstalled or removed as most are not in use. With satellite dishes, we will automatically remove then reinstall when the job has been completed, we will try our best to relocate the dish exactly in the same location & direction that it was in prior to its removal, but are in no way responsible for reception difficulties.

CLEAN UP: What often separates a great company from the rest is the quality of the site clean up throughout our work with you. A professional contractor should remove all debris, clean out the gutter system and do a thorough cleaning of the grounds and landscaping. Included in this is the use of a magnet to pick up any nails that have reached ground level. The perimeter of the home including lawn, landscaped areas, driveway and supporting vehicle parking area will also be included in the search for nails and debris to keep you and your family safe. We are also an eco friendly contractor and recycle as much of the debris as possible instead of just taking it to the dump to reduce are carbon footprint. For example the shingles can be grinded up and reused as asphalt to build roads.

WARRANTIES & PAYMENT: We provide you with both your manufacturers warranty and our 10-year transferable workmanship warranty upon completion of the job. Our terms are payment in full upon completion unless otherwise agreed upon. We accept cash, cheque, e-transfer, PayPal, and also take credit cards for your convenience. Any credit card or PayPal payments over $1000.00 will be subject to a 2.0% surcharge. We also require a 20% deposit for all booked jobs over $5000.00.

SIGNAGE: Placing a sign on your property is the last step in the completion of work to your exterior. We are proud of the job and work we have done. The sign will be left there for 1-4 weeks just let us know how long is ok with you. After the time decided by you has expired we will return to pick it up, you are in no way responsible for the sign in the event that it is damaged or stolen.
